Current Crush: The Doctor

It's probably kind of weird to follow a post talking about how much I love my husband with a Current Crush post about a male doctor, but it's not what you think. Unless you are Katie. Then it is exactly what you think.

I've heard about Doctor Who sporadically over the years. The only die hard out of the closet Whovian I'd met was a girl I visit taught last year when lived in New York. The description of the show didn't really appeal to me. I like science fiction, but not that much. And I had no idea how to watch it.

Then there was that fateful day that I found the first season of the new Who at the library when I was looking for series three of Downton Abbey. I finished it in a few days. Jeff picked up the second season and I finished it in a week, but only because we left it at home when we traveled for Jeff's work. After that I learned it was on Netflix and signed up for the one month free trial so that I can get caught up.

I'm in the middle of season 4 and have had to slow down quite a bit because whenever I watch Doctor Who during Ezra's nap times, he always wakes up. Baby Whovian, I guess.

It is a clever and witty and brilliant show and even though Jeff doesn't like it as much as I do, you should watch it. And there's drama but not borderline soap opera drama like in Downton Abbey. More like "Holy crap that character was an insignificant bystander six episodes ago and look at them now!" It has completely distracted me from my goals of catching up on Downton Abbey and reading The Chronicles of Narnia series and art journaling every day.

To quote Kate Crabill, "...I never thought a sci-fi dramedy about a time traveling alien man would make me feel so many feelings."
